I have been making patchwork quilts for many years and now I am hoping to share my passion with you.
My handmade quilts will grace any home and add warmth to any room. They can be used to snuggle under on cold evenings as my children so often do, to adorn your beds, to make visitors feel welcome in your home or as a gift.
The photographs on this site show the designs available, you choose the size, colour and design that will meet your requirements and I will get to work on your quilt. If you have fabric belonging to a loved one, a mother's dress, grandfather's shirt, I can include it in your quilt. This can be a great idea for your child who is embarking on University life and can take their memories with them. Alternatively as a wedding gift, the possibilities are endless.
Each quilt is individually crafted to your requirements, therefore making it unique. Most fabrics and wadding used are 100% cotton. I prefer to use cotton wadding as it ages gracefully and becomes softer with age. The quilts are machined pieced and quilted on my Gammill Longarm Machine.
Quilts are a fabulous way of keeping in touch with previous generations, to be enjoyed now and to be treasured in the future. We often put a lot of time into the making of a quilt, therefore, on the back of each quilt I add a label, which is dated and signed. If required, additional information may be added to the label, perhaps a message or phrase.
Completing your patchwork quilt normally takes between 4-6 weeks, once the final details have been decided upon.
Quilt sizes are as follows;
"Of all the things a woman's hands have made,
The quilt so lightly thrown across her bed,
The quilt that keeps her loved ones warm,
Is woven of her love and dreams and thread"
